Programs & Instruction
  Programs & Instruction
The First Tee of Lakeland’s program consists of two curriculums: one focused on golf, the other on life skills. These curriculums, however, are not independent of each other. On the contrary, they go hand-in-hand. To progress to the next level, participants must show proficiency in both golf and life.
  How the Program Works
Beginning golfers enter the program through our SNAG (Starting New at Golf) curriculum. Once a youth is registered in the SNAG program, he/she will begin training to achieve Par status. Training is done in sessions. Each session includes a total of six weeks, where participants attend an hour class, twice a week.
  Program Schedule
Classes open to First Tee Program Participants. There must be a minimum of 3 students in a class.
  Adult Programs
Individual golf lessons allow you the chance to work one-on-one with a PGA Instructor. During your lesson time you will have the opportunity to get instruction for any part of you game you may need help, such as: Full Swing, Chipping, Putting, Bunker, Distance Wedges, and also Course Management.
The First Tee Life Skills Experience

The First Tee Life Skills Experience is one of the unique features that differentiates The First Tee from many other successful junior golf programs.  Through the Life Skills Experience, participants learn valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences and how to define and set goals from the golf course to everyday life.
The First Tee Certification Process

The First Tee wants everyone who completes The First Tee Experience to have acquired basic golf skills and to be able to demonstrate certain fundamental life skill concepts – such as interpersonal communication and the importance of rules and etiquette.
The First Tee Coach

The First Tee Coach Program is an educational training program that prepares staff and volunteers at Chapters of The First Tee to deliver The First Tee Life Skills Experience, which includes the TARGET program, as well as the Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace levels of certification.
Assistant Coach Training
The First Tee Assistant Coach Training for individuals who want to be more involved with the ongoing coaching and mentoring of The First Tee participants at the Chapter level but may not be able to spend the time required to become recognized as a The First Tee Coach.
